About the Role
The Paraplanner is a foundational role for those pursuing a career as a CFP® professional. In this support role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with real client scenarios, assisting advisors, and learning the planning process in a team-focused environment.
You’ll focus on gathering and analyzing client data, preparing plans, and supporting client meetings — helping deliver a seamless experience for clients while building your technical and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and organize client data; input and analyze this data in financial planning software.
- Coordinate with advisors to clarify missing information, occasionally liaising directly with clients as needed.
- Support client meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up documentation.
- Maintain accurate client records and track progress in CRM.
- Research planning strategies, products, and technical updates to support recommendations and build an internal knowledge base.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and develop project management skills.
Qualifications
- Progress toward CFP® certification preferred; completed CFP® ideal; plan to obtain is required.
- Experience in financial planning or wealth management preferred; bachelor’s degree in business field of study preferred.
- FINRA Series 7 and 65 preferred. Assistant planner with willingness to obtain Series 7, Series 65, and life and health insurance.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Tech-savvy and eager to learn new tools and processes including financial planning software, CRM systems, and general Microsoft office platforms.

Location: In-Person Position (Office in Timonium, MD) with hybrid and flexible work schedule opportunity after introductory period (3-6 months)
