Paul Sortino, CFP®, is President and a Financial Advisor at Sortino Financial Group, where he works with business owners, professionals, and their advisory teams to support long-term financial planning and informed decision-making. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Paul has worked in the financial services industry since 2006 and focuses primarily on serving small and closely held businesses, with an emphasis on retirement planning, business succession planning, employee benefits strategy, and coordinating financial planning considerations alongside clients’ CPAs and legal advisors.
Paul is a strong proponent of collaboration between CPAs and financial advisors and believes the most effective client outcomes occur when financial planning strategies are developed in close coordination with a client’s CPA and accounting professionals. His practice is intentionally structured to partner with CPAs and accounting firms by serving as a financial planning resource, supporting education, strategic discussions, and coordinated implementation planning. Paul and Sortino Financial Group are NASBA-certified CPE providers and offer continuing professional education programs for CPAs and accounting firms focused on financial planning concepts and practical considerations relevant to accounting professionals.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and is a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School. He lives in Towson, Maryland, with his wife and their soon-to-be 11-year-old son. Outside of his professional work, Paul enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an occasional golfer. He serves on the board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is also supports the Multiple Sclerosis Society. In addition, Paul is active in children’s ministry as a host for the Time Travelers program through the Church of the Nativity in Timonium.
